Courtesy Iowa Geological Survey's (IGS) real-time seismometer near Des Moines, IA captured the derecho as it moved through the metro. The IGS' Jason Vogelgesang says, "You can see the waveform responding to the immense wind, beginning at 10:26am & fading back to normal background conditions at 12:08pm". Each line represents 30 minutes of time from left to right and goes from 7am at the top of the image to 7pm at the bottom of the image.
